FOUNDING ATTORNEY
Brooke founded Everley Law, LLC in 2011 after gaining experience in the estate planning and corporate practice groups as an associate at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. Brooke practices in the areas of estate and gift planning, estate and trust administration and probate, business succession planning, and general business and corporate law. Her estate planning practice includes the preparation of wills, trusts (including life insurance trusts, trusts for minors, revocable trusts, and spousal lifetime access trusts), powers of attorney, health care directives and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She also assists clients with the administration of estates and trusts and the establishment of uncontested guardianships and conservatorships.
Brooke focuses her corporate practice on business entity formation and business succession planning for family-owned businesses, including the preparation of buy-sell agreements and the use of gifts and sales to transfer assets to future generations. She also has experience assisting clients in connection with the preparation and negotiation of contracts with customers, business partners, and employees, as well as with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Her corporate clients have included those in the lumber industry, residential and commercial real estate, construction, food services, professional services and the nonprofit sector.
When not in the office, Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their two children.

Megan joined Everley Law, LLC in 2023 after gaining experience at two regional law firms, Dentons Sirote and Maynard Nexsen PC, in the areas of estate planning and litigation. Today, Megan’s practice focuses in the areas of trust and estate planning and estate administration.
Megan enjoys working alongside families and individual clients on a daily basis to assist them with their estate planning, wealth preservation, and estate administration needs.
Megan is recognized in Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” in the areas of Trusts and Estates, Litigation: Trusts and Estates, and Commercial Litigation. Between her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she spent two years teaching in Alabama with Teach For America.
Megan and her husband, Richard, have been blessed with three children—Jackson, Harper and Charlotte.

Janelle joined Everley Law after a decade of criminal prosecutorial work. Her role involves managing cases, drafting documents, supporting attorneys and communicating with clients. She has dedicated her life to serving others. First as a prosecutor and now helping clients feel confident in their future estate planning. Her role as a paralegal gives her the satisfaction of providing an efficient and successful outcome for our clients.
Janelle graduated from Florida Southern College and Cumberland School of Law. She is a member of both the Florida and Alabama Bar Associations. Janelle lives in Birmingham with her husband, Joe, and their three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her dog Mocha, and sewing children’s heirloom clothes.

As a dedicated Legal Assistant at Everley Law, Melanie brings over 10 years of experience in providing comprehensive support to our legal team. Her role involves client care and scheduling, preparing and organizing documents, and managing case files to ensure our attorneys can focus on delivering exceptional legal services to our clients.
Born in Birmingham but mostly raised in Montgomery, AL, Melanie attended The University of Alabama as well as The University of Alabama at Birmingham earning her degree in Health Education. She lives in Birmingham with her husband of 23 years and has 2 children, a son in high school and a daughter in college. She enjoys relaxing at home with her family, including 4 pets, reading, various creative pursuits, and dinners out with friends.
